Where did Whitney say this? Was it at the Value Investing Congress West? Is the idea to buy LEAPs of Tyco before the spinoff or to try to find LEAPs of the new companies after the spinoff?

This was mentioned at VIC; however, he did not give specific instructions. He did give some tips on how to identify the most attractive of the 3 post spinoff companies (Think sum of parts DCF analysis). IIRC all of them were attractive it really depends on the investors opinions of the companies moving forward. That said I remember him saying that he had LEAPs for TYC I am unsure if they were OTC LEAPs or custom.
