Taking the CFA- what to study...
I just graduated from college and was thinking about taking the CFA level I.
What would you guys recommend reading in prep for the exam?
Would you advise taking it while not currently working in the finance industry? I unexpectedly graduated early and dint get a chance to get into any analyst programs here in NY. And at this moment, there really aren't any good programs to start full time in. Everyone now wants cheap grunt workers to do payroll duties :( To tell you the truth, I'm not a big fan of working with the wall street crowd. I cant tell you how many of my classmates got sucked into personal banking and sales jobs , selling product after product they don't understand.
I originally thought of doing it "just to get by" but after reading Poor Charlies Almanack (mungers book), i feel compelled to really shoot for something I love doing.
If anyone has any advise for beginning a career in value investing, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance. I'm glad i stumbled upon this site. It's been a breathe of fresh air.
