Marvel Entertainment runs an attractive business, licensing it's stable of superhero characters for use in movies, TV, video games, and general merchandise. It's position on the Magic Formula indicates it's attractiveness as a value play. But can the company succeed in it's new venture as a movie studio?
Street Capitalist Portfolio Outperforms
As a whole, the Street Capitalist portfolio is up 12.82% over the course of less than 5 months. During the same period, the S&P 500 is down -6.46%. I’m quite satisfied with this type of out performance of my benchmark. In the future I’d like to make a few more changes:

James Stewart, WSJ & SmartMoney columnist says "With the Nasdaq Composite at about 2450 this week, the index is approaching my latest selling threshold of 2515, when it may well be time to lock in some of these recent gains."
Quietly Marvelous
Marvel Entertainment (MVL), home of the X-Men and other lucrative comic book franchises, had a terrific month in the stock market. But, the real test will come in 2007 and 2008. In '07, the company will release three possible hits. In '08, Marvel's first self-produced film, Iron Man, will arrive in theaters.
