This post tells the story of The Northern Pipeline Contest. Read about Benjamin Graham the activist investor. This is probably the best known instance of Graham's activism. Note the similarities (and differences) between Graham's investment in Northern Pipeline and Buffett's invest in Sanborn Map.This contest was a big deal in its day, winning board seats over the objection of management to effect a distribution of assets was basically unheard of at the time.
