The markets give a positive closing for the day as after opening on a positive note the markets witnessed lacklustre session trading in a range for the day. Almost all the sectoral and the broader indices closed the day on a positive note with the exceptions being the Oil & Gas and the Metal indices. The main gainers which provided support to the markets are the Realty and Auto indices closing the day with more than two percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 70.06 points or 0.41 percentage points to close at 17,265.87. Nifty ends the day at 5179.25 gaining 22.60 points or 0.44 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,733 advances against 1,135 declines on BSE. On the global front European stocks erased their advance as utilities, construction companies and banks declined.
