Google Finance Can Lead You Astray

Google Finance provides a plethora of data, is easy to use, and provides a flexible stock screener. But it contains a ton of errors. Therefore, you absolutely cannot make an investment based purely on the statistical read you get from Google Finance.

This is a good wake up call for those of us who depend so heavily on Google. Not only Google Finance, but other Google properties, as well.

Google Finance isn't the only bad apple

Google Finance isn't the only one you have to watch out for. Just recently there was a huge error in Google News that sent United Airlines stock plummeting. Google News apparently found an old article (from 2002) and gave it the wrong date, then it was picked up by a journalist who took it to the presses.
Just goes to show you, you can't believe everything you read/see/hear.
