I new this event was very significant, but I'm suprised to see Buffett give it a 9.9 out of I'm assume 10. I'm really surprised to see that everything is still holding together today in the markets. Some hedge funds must have blown up on this one.

George, Sears may not have a moat in the traditional sense (ie. USG has a pretty large moat on Sheetrock products, Walmart has a moat on its economy of scale )but is it possible that they have a moat in their land holdings. I know that this is a fairly common argument among Sears shareholders, in other words, that Sears holds 1/5 of the mall space in America but that is fairly large for one retailer. hmmm....I guess i'm just stuck between its assets and its "failing" business.

No Sears in the Fat Pitch Financials Port since it has no moat. Buffett has noted that when a good management meets a bad business, it is the reputation of the business that generally prevails.

I just hope everyone doesn't have a bad case of goupthink on sears. I don't really care how smart Lampert is, Sears Holdings its still a failing business and until it starts getting some positive cash flow its still a dicey one.
