Walleys views on Mr.buffett of Berkshire hathaway is good and so is the opinion he has on Dell.but it could have been better if the video has been directly loaded in this site.

I'm not so sure about that, it really can't be him, but I'm willing to keep an eye on the profile. Would be interesting if it really was him, wouldn't it?

Thanks

Thanks. I agree completely with the idea we may disagree on a few minor points. Also, intrinsic value estimates will vary. I just wanted to write a post following Barron's piece that made it clear getting in at today's price is likely to leave you doing as well or as poorly as Berkshire (the business) does for the period you hold it. The stock is not overpriced the way some mega-caps were around 2000 - where buying into a great business could have left you none the richer five or even seven years later, though the business may have continued to do just fine. My one main point is exactly what you said "BRK/A while not underpriced is not overpriced".

Hi geoff nice article. Like all good chefs we make disagree on a few "minor points" but the general theme is the same that BRK/A while not underpriced is not "overpriced .Check this article out I wrote at the end of July http://www.atfreeforum.com/billyticketswin/viewtopic.php?t=8&sid=d7b8d76add96e7c70fd00fea4fb35c04&mforum=billyticketswin

Yes marine Iagree.Thats why I disagreed with his investment in Delta Financial this summer BEFORE IT DECLARED BANKRUPTCY. The subprime mess was "real" when he invested but instead of staying clear of it he seems to like UNCERTAINTITY which a value investor like Buffett would never do.

I think Pabrai make some very insightful points: return of capital is more important than return on capital, low risk and high uncertainty approach, looking for Value, day-to-day fluctuations are mostly noise and more.

Buffet is a smart man. A really smart man. I'm sure in the future his name will be in the same book with Nostradamus, Davinci, Napoleon...etc...I'm just curious if Warren owns some proprieties of the National Marine Engineers Beneficial Association. Oh well, we'll probably hear that he owns half of the moon or something.

Never heard of the dude. So if I bet a huge sum of money (for a good cause) and win I get to have lunch with the guy? Do I have to pay the money up-front or pay a cash advance and then some monthly payments?

George, I'm surprised too. WEB looked offended when asked if he was retiring and he seemed a bit uncomfortable talking about the succession plan.

Look at the bottom of any page on Value Investing News and you will see a banner for the VIN Toolbar. Click it and then follow the directions for installing the browser toolbar. It includes a quick VIN login button, submit story link, SEC quick search features, live VIN News, latest annual report filings, and a few additional tools such as spellcheck.
