I dont hold Apple because I

I dont hold Apple because I didnt quite get people's zeal for Apple products.. because I never used Mac or iPod.

By the time iPhone rolled around, I thought the stock was running ahead of it self and particularly because of Apple's choice of AT&T, I didn't believe it will go too far too soon.

At this point, I have very different thought on whats coming up..

1. iPhone is ready to go down iPod path.. may be at a slower pace or may be at a faster pace. The pace will be defined by Steve Jobs' ego, Nokia's ability to thwart Apple and Telecom operators fear & greed..
The obvious scenario is that iPhone will grow rapidly.

2. Apple may be fairly valued today but potential iPhone explosion is not priced in.. At this point everyone is talking about 10M iPhones in next 12months.. if Apple decides to play its card slightly differently (more operators, opening the phone for programmers - which is happening, cheaper versions.. etc..) it doesnt take much to grow this number to 20M / 50M or even 100M per year in next three years.. remember the market size is >500M phones a year.

This is what excites people about Apple and will see the stock run up again.. for me, I am ready to pay "good price for great company" and buying some Apple now.

Re: kindle= pointless?

Thank you for the feedback on the Kindle. I'm trying to convince myself that it is too expensive for what it is. The black and white limitation doesn't bother me, but I was hoping that it could display more than 4 shades of gray.

The main thing I thought would be really nice is the larger screen and E Ink screen. Can you really read long documents comfortably on the iPhone or iPod Touch? I haven't played with either yet. I should stop by an Apple Store and check them out.

kindle= pointless?

Well, people in that past have said that reading on these devices that present a "glow" via their screens are tiresome to the eyes, thus making it difficult to read a book on such a device.

Sony and Amazon (others have too) have developed a reader that doesn't emit this glow, so it very closely resembles the page of a book making it easier on the eyes.

Does that make it worth $400? That I don't know. Maybe if you read a lot of books and you are trying to cut down on your carbon footprint.

I don't understand the point of the Kindle.

It is $400 for something that can only access black and white text.

That's ridiculous.

You're better off getting something like an iPhone or iPod Touch and opening PDF files on it.
