We added some tabs to the SEC EDGAR filings links to make it even easier to locate the most recent filings, annual & quarterly statements, and form 4s. I think you will really find this feature useful.

Thank you for providing the EDGAR symbol for Berkshire Hathaway. I can't believe I missed BRKA while I was trying to figure this out. I might have to make BRKA the official VIN symbol for Berkshire in order for the EDGAR links feature to work.

Great work George! This feature offers a lot of utility for me. EDGAR uses BRKA for Berkshire.

SEC Filings NOW on VIN!

Staying up way to late last night and putting off lots of other things, I hacked around with some javascript, Google APIs, and the SEC XML feeds. The result is a preliminary display of the latest 3 SEC filings for any given ticker page on Value Investing News.

The latest SEC filing appear at the top of each stock ticker page. Check out the pages for MSFT, C, and JNJ as examples.

The results are still a bit rough. The latest filings block is not currently working for Berkshire Hathaway since I can't figure out what symbol SEC EDGAR uses for the company (Anyone know what it is? I tried BRK-A and BRK.a). There is also a slight delay in the loading of the SEC filings and the first time a stock ticker pages is loaded the filings might not appear. The SEC filings block is kind of ugly right now and awkwardly above the page category title. I might move the SEC filings block to the bottom of the page or the top of the right sidebar in the near future. There is definitely still some work to be done in refining this.

I'm really excited about this new feature. I'm thinking many of you might find this to be a useful feature. Now you can see the latest SEC and news links all on the same page at VIN. Please provide feedback on how to make this new feature even better. I want to know where to best position this information, how many current listings to show, and whether to just show the filing links versus including all the associated text. Please share your feedback in the comments below.

I'm attempting to incorporate these feeds with the Value Investing News stock ticker pages. I need a bit of AJAX programming to execute my idea. Any AJAX pros in the house?

This weekend I spotted orange XML feed images all over EDGAR. It looks like the SEC finally added feeds to the output of their database. Now we can track company filing updates from our news readers!
