Anyone know about Etrade accounts
I am looking to switch my personal account from Scottrade to ETrade. Etrade says they offer Reuters research, etc. Does that mean that I can get "Reuters research", meaning that I can get research from all the brokers (Goldman, Merrill, Morgan Stanley, etc)? They also offer Thomson research. When I called them to ask the guy sounded a bit clueless and had no idea.
thanks

Re: Anyone know about Etrade accounts
It doesn't surprise me that the guy you talked with at Reuters was clueless. What kind of research were you expecting to get from Reuters? I did notice that ETrade is offering free premium Morningstar for accounts with more than $20k. I would think that Morningstar's research is better than Reuters.
Re:
I talked w/ the guy at Etrade, not at reuters. The Reuters research I was referring to was themarkets.com (or perhaps they have something similar, a stripped down version for non-institutional clients?). Themarkets.com basically aggregates research from sell-side shops. From past experience Morninstar doesn't cut it. I've never seen a "Reuters"-branded piece, which is why I ask.
BTW - I have TD Ameritrade
BTW - I have TD Ameritrade a/c and they offer Ford, The Street.com, Market edge and one JayWalk consensus which are all retail investor level research.
While I like M* for first cut understanding, you are right, it is no where near institutional research.

I've been with scottrade
I've been with scottrade online stock trading for the last few years i started with etrade almost when they started really promoting the site but not to happy with the prices. I'm not using a broker for the whole reason to save per trade and have more information available.
