How do stories get promoted to the front page?

Once a story is submitted by a user it is instantly posted in the "Review New Stories" queue. This is a temporary holding place where stories wait to be promoted to the homepage. To help promote stories to the homepage, simply visit the voting area and vote for stories you think a value investor, such as the Oracle of Omaha, would value. Once a story has received enough votes, it is instantly promoted to the front page. Should the story not receive enough votes, or is reported, it eventually falls out of the "Review New Stories" queue. Value Investing News works because a self selected group of people actively promote good stories to the homepage. Since this site's content is user-driven, it is up to YOU to contribute.

How do I submit stories?

Submitting stories is easy. Simply click on "Submit Story" and enter the URL of the story you would like to submit. Then fill out a title, description, and category for the story. Should you encounter a potential duplicate, please vote for the original story and do not submit a duplicate entry.

How can I use a bookmarklet to make submitting stories even easier when I find an article?

Submitting stories while you browse the web can be as simple as clicking on one of your favorites. Just right click on this bookmarklet and add it to your favorites. If you select the "Links" folder when saving this bookmarklet, it may appear in your browser's toolbar. When you find a good value investing article on the web, just click on your bookmarklet and it will automatically send the link to the article to Value Investing News. Then you can just add a few details in order to submit a new article. You need to be logged in to Value Investing News for this to work automatically.

How do I recall my bookmarked stories?

Every time you vote, submit, or comment on a story it is bookmarked and stored within your user profile. To visit your user profile, click on "My account" on the top left of the page.
