Reminds me of LUK
Alleghany reminds me a lot of Leucadia National (LUK).
Leucadia buys out-of-favor assets at discounts to intrinsic value and then works to improve and extract value from those assets. Leucadia's current holdings include real estate developer HomeFed, the Pine Ridge and Archery Summit wineries, and several other public and private companies. -- from Morningstar.
I still feel it is a bit expensive.
